Rich Stevens was born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1978. Raised in Marietta, Ga; he graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingahm, Al in 2001 with a BFA in printmaking. He is currently living and creating in Atlanta, Ga. Exclusively using found wood covered with gesso/newspaper collage and coated with epoxy; he creates art from the trash of his community.
Rich works with acrylic, watercolor, india ink, pencil, and his own photocopied photographs. By combining images from our sybaritic, consumerist society with themes culled from the feral collective subconscious of southern nightlife Rich seeks to portray the modern American tragedy.
